Lead Settings

How lead follow-ups are assigned, whether your firm charges for initial consultations, and the small celebrations.

You'll find this page in Settings under Leads.

The Lead Settings page shapes your sales workflow: what kind of task gets created when a lead needs a follow-up, who handles initial consultations, and whether those consultations are paid.

Lead Follow-Ups

  • Activity Follow-Up: the activity type used for lead follow-up tasks. When a lead is marked Waiting On with a follow-up date, Outlaw creates the follow-up task with this activity, so your sales work is categorized consistently. The list offers the activities in your Sales categories (see Activities).
  • Initial Consult User: the user (or group) the consultation task is assigned to. If consultations rotate among staff, assign them to a group so anyone in it can claim the task.

Initial Consultations

Check “Our firm charges for initial consultations” if your firm bills for the first meeting (or case strategy session). This switches on extra logic in lead management: taking a payment before a case is opened, and an extra milestone, Consult Sufficient, that lets you complete a lead as won without opening a case at all. This setting is the firm default; it can be overridden per case type or per individual lead.

When paid consults are on, you also set:

  • Cost and Duration (hours): what the consultation costs and how long it runs; these drive the consult invoice and the consultation task.
  • Task Name: what the consultation is called throughout the app (“Initial Consult”, “Strategy Session”; your choice of words).
  • Activity: the activity type associated with the consultation task.

One pure morale setting: should a victory sound play when a lead converts to a case? Your call.
