Outlaw Practice

Getting Started

Welcome to Outlaw Practice

A quick orientation to how Outlaw Practice is organized, so you know where to find things.

Outlaw Practice brings your whole firm into one place: the people you work with, the cases you work on, the time you spend, and the money that comes in and goes out. This guide is a placeholder; the full getting-started walkthrough is coming soon.

How the App Is Organized

The main navigation mirrors how a firm actually runs:

  • Tasks & Time Entries: your work, planned and tracked (these are the same thing).
  • Contacts: clients, companies, and everyone connected to your work.
  • Cases: the legal work itself.
  • Sales: leads and new business coming in.
  • Marketing: campaigns, referrers, and referrals.
  • Financials: billing, invoices, payments, and trust accounting.
  • Reports: analytics across all of it.

Each area keeps its own color throughout the app, so you always know where you are at a glance, and these docs use the same colors.

We Say “Case”, Not “Matter”

Much of the legal industry (and most other practice management software) calls a representation a matter. Outlaw Practice prefers the plain word: a case. It’s the word your clients use, and one less piece of jargon between you and them. Wherever another product would say “matter”, Outlaw (and these docs) say “case”: same concept, simpler name.
